Stud Service

Merrywind Teckels offers limited stud service to approved AKC dachshund females. Discounts available to conformation and/or field titled bitches.

If you are interested in using one of our studs to sire your next purebred dachshund litter, please email us with a copy of your girl’s AKC pedigree and some pictures of her, along with some details about what your are looking for in a stud and/or your goals for the litter.

All of our males live in their very own “couch family” homes, so we appreciate being able to plan ahead as much as possible so we can set up transportation to have the stud here when your bitch comes into season and is ready to be bred. Bitch owner is responsible for evaluating when their bitch is going to be in season and transportation of bitch to and from studding. We are located in southwest Iowa. Stud service fee includes boarding for the duration of breeding if required.

Current negative canine brucellosis test is required.

Ask for details about AI, both fresh side-by-side and shipping of chilled semen. All collection and shipping charges are the responsibility of the bitch owner for shipped semen.

Magnum finished his CH title at only 9 months of age with 4 major wins in very limited showing and went on quickly to complete his GCH! This handsome boy has a look that demands to be seen and beautiful correct movement. He is producing exceptional offspring with several CH and GCH get to his name. Magnum’s breeder is Spring Valley Dachshunds, our very good breeder friend Darcy Keehn. Magnum’s next goal is to complete his field championship!

CH Merrywind’s It’s Clobberin’ Time ML “Ben”

Ben is a lovely young dachshund boy with a big future ahead of him! He is the son of our own GCH CH Magnum x IntCH CH Aimee from the “Fantastic Four Litter”. Ben has his sire’s presence and his dam’s bubbly personality, making him a favorite around here. He finished his conformation title often having to compete against his littermate brother CH Reed, who is owned and loved by Carla Coates, Doxielubber Miniature Dachshunds. Ben carries for chocolate.

Merrywind’s Standin’ In the Sun ML “Ravi”

Ravi is a very special dachshund with a exceptionally kind and intuitive personality and beautiful correct conformation. Unfortunately, this spectacular boy has never been shown in conformation due in part to the suspension of shows during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is a full brother to CH Ben, out of GCH CH Magnum and CH Aimee, from Aimee’s “Finale Litter”. Ravi carries for chocolate and supposedly tested as a piebald carrier, although there is no indication of piebald anywhere in his pedigree as far back as I can trace.

Marty is part of a longtime dream of mine to have a spectacular line of longhair chocolate dachshunds. He is confident and fun and brings beautiful bone structure, especially in his gorgeous hound head. He comes to us from a wonderful breeder/handler and we can’t wait for him to make a splash in the puppies he produces. Marty is not currently available to outside stud service.
